Around the country our schools are providing students with unique, experiential, and applied learning opportunities. Years of Living Dangerously is one of those opportunities you don’t want to miss. As the series unfolds the biggest stories of our time students become emotional involved in the lives of those represented and through your instruction and facilitation will become agents of change, empowered by knowledge and evidence to create and solve our problems today and into the future.
Welcome to the Years of Living Dangerously (YEARS) central education website, where you will find climate smart educational resources and learning opportunities that correspond to the science and issues presented in the series.
The real stories and changes occurring in our natural world as told in YEARS offer middle and high school students, teachers and parents the foundation for experiential learning through analyzing the science of climate change, distinguishing facts from opinions, and investigating solutions. Here we offer age- and developmentally-appropriate curriculum, resources, online learning, contests and events which relate to daily life.
Students and faculty at the college and university level will find materials and case studies to demonstrate leadership in advancing sustainability. We see many signs of encouragement and inspiration coming from campuses across the country. However we hope to engage dramatically more young people and develop their leadership skills and environmental knowledge at a scale that is unprecedented to successfully confront the challenges before them.
Colleges and universities are called to action! Share Years of Living Dangerously far and wide on your campuses. Help your fellow students, faculty and staff understand the devastating impacts of climate change on the human population all across the world. Take action on campus to reduce your environmental footprint.
Green Your School with Eco-Schools USA! We will help you form an Eco-Action Team and make a plan to involve educators, students, administrators and parents (the whole school community) in lowering your school’s carbon footprint.
